Project questions

Fixed storefront glass damage questions

Common questions when a fixed storefront panel is broken and the opening needs immediate protection.

Can broken fixed storefront glass be boarded up before replacement?

Yes. Temporary protection can close and secure the opening while the correct replacement pane is measured or prepared.

Does board-up mean the glass replacement is complete?

No. Board-up is temporary protection. The damaged fixed storefront glass still requires permanent replacement.

Can the existing storefront frame stay in place?

That depends on the condition of the aluminum frame, glass stops and surrounding opening. They are assessed before the replacement panel is installed.
